Designed in conjunction with Wille Edwards, our Electric Weissenborn is and real blend of past and present. Using a template pattern from a 1929 Style 1, we modified the size whilst keeping the scale length, shape and curves. Incorporated in to this is the original Weissenborn profile as well as the original headstock design and C.1927 bridge, giving this guitar the real feel and look of a vintage instrument, but the versatility and tonal capabilities of the finest modern day electrics.
Another unique aspect of the Electric Weissenborn is its chambered body including a hollow neck, a feature that’s responsible for so much of the original instruments sonic potential and is brought through with this electric’s tone and most importantly sustain. We fit Seymour Duncan custom 59’s as standard. One Humbucker one Trembucker, coil taps for each pickups, series parallel selector and phase switch. 4 dpdt push pull pots and 4 conductor cable.
The body has been carved from the finest Mahogany, exclusively hide glue construction, a beautifully figured Koa wood top and bound with the traditional “Rope” Marquetry, stained Maple Bridge, Koa fretboard with extra fancy abalone inlay and all finished with the finest hand rubbed nitrocellulose, all resulting in a guitar unrivalled in its low, mid’s and high end responses, played clean or with overdrive, a real classic in the making.
